What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a therapeutic practice derived from Chinese Medicine that has been used for thousands of years to treat a wide variety of health conditions. It involves the precise insertion of very thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body to stimulate the nervous system and promote natural healing.

Cupping therapy

Cupping therapy is an ancient healing practice that uses suction to pull skin, muscle, and fascia upward. Originating over 5,000 years ago in Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures, it remains a popular holistic treatment in 2025 for pain relief, muscle recovery, and overall wellness. In TCM we use cupping therapy to remove toxins and stagnation from the blood.

Moxa and gua sha

Moxibustion is a specialised heat therapy that involves burning a dried herb called mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) on or near specific acupuncture points. This can improve immune function and bring healing heat into the body to improve qi and blood and overall health and wellbeing.

Gua Sha is a therapeutic scraping technique that uses a smooth-edged tool to stroke the skin, typically on the back, neck, or limbs. This can help with muscular pain and tension, and also remove toxin from the blood.
